Summer sea shells

Hello friends and yes it's been forever since I've last blogged. I love cardmaking so much that I forgot to blog! Now, I think I have my rhythm so let's get started! Summer is all about the beach, ocean and fun in the sun. For this card, I used The Stamps of Life products, known as TSOL, June Die Hard Set and Card Kit. The sound of the ocean and the feeling of the sand between your toes reminds me of seagrass and gingersnap colors So, I definitely decided to use those two colors as my pallete. I used the die cut Scalloped Edge as my card base from the gingersnap cardstock. I absolutely love this card base. It is so frilly and has so much space! Next, I used June's Stamp Die Hard shells2stamp with Versamark ink and white embossing powder then heat set the sand dollar, large shell and small shell randomly over the card base.

I pulled out the drop-in from the TSOL Scalloped Edge card base set and decided to make it a bit wider. I wanted all my white embossed shells to show, so I held that drop-in square die cut on to my pretty dot patterned paper, which comes from the Sparkle Collection included in the TSOL June Card Kit, and cut with an Exact-o knife the inside of the die out yielding a larger window. Next I took Seaglass cardstock strips and backed all the holes behind the scallops of the Sparkle dotted patterned paper.

For dimension, I heat embossed solids4shells with gold embossing powder and used the coordinating die cuts. These die cuts are intricate and add these wonderful lines in the shells for added beauty which looked fantastic with the embossing! I only popped up the two on the outer edges, knowing the sentiment would run across the middle of my card. I tied on the beautiful seagrass ribbon which is included in the TSOL June Card Kit so I knew it would match perfectly. I glued the entire panel down with the attached bow.

My card was ready for sentiments. I grabbed the Seagrass cardstock and heat embossed Life's a Beach in white which comes from the same shells2stamp set that all these great shells are from. I did cut that stamp in half and place half of it on one side and half on the other. It's quite alright to do so. Next I took the reverse panel from the card front and used it as my interior. Quickly stamped some shells and Sea you Soon sentiment which also comes from the shells2stamp set.....isn't that set awesome! Finally I added some clear sequins and filled them with Glossy Accents to mimic water. *****TIP***** When using Glossy Accents gradually build up the product. So, fill one layer and let it dry; go back and gradually add layers to it avoiding cracking and flattening. If you're not a TSOL member yet, you definitely should be! Remember you can join TSOL for as little as 11.95 per month (you receive the stamp set) and enjoy the added benefit of 15% discount off the entire site!

Thank you so much for stopping by! I appreciate it greatly!!
