Summer is flying by and I hope everyone is enjoying family, some sun and wonderful vacations! Today I have a patriotic card that I wanted to share. It was such a fun card to make. I made my cardbase from The Stamps of Life (TSOL) sugarpowder cardstock. This card also features all the pattern paper from the TSOL Laugh Collection befitting for the month of July because it features colors like: Sea Glass, Midnight, Blueberry, Sky, Cranberry, Strawberry, Cloud and Storm - perfect for ocean and patriotic cards! Next, I cut out the large star pattern paper as a background panel measuring 4" x 5.25" adhered it directly onto my cardbase. For added interest, I glued a banner diagonally across the background panel that matches the paper of my star.
Then, I die cut the Sizzix Star fold-It which was my focus piece. This is another versatile die cut. Not only can you use it year round for cards and holidays; the stars also make great class rewards and student gifts with an attached pencil! I created my panel for my star focal point which measured 2.5" x 4" I used a cluster of stars stamp from the stars4you set and randomly stamped them in blue ink onto my focal point panel. I tied my ribbon on at the bottom edge of the panel and adhered it with glue dots. I also placed my star on the panel using foam squares. Afterwards, I put foam tape on the back of the entire panel so that piece was raised.
To finish the card inside, I attended The Stamps of Life "Dream Big" online class which offers an exclusive stamp and die cut set. I used the " happy" die cut word and outline in Blueberry and Cranberry, respectively. Finally I used my Tim Holtz Stamp Platform and stamped 4th of July sentiment from stars4you. Great card to make in no time what so ever!
Thank you for swinging by!
Have a wonderful and safe 4th of July!!
